About

B.A.D

  • Founded: 2018
  • Location: Glasgow/Argentina/Zürich

In early 2018, BAD - The Blockchain Art Directory, a partly edited, partly community-fed web directory of past, present and future crypto projects, was born.

As a free-to-use OG service, BAD provided the first educational resources on dApps and Web3 tools, welcoming newcomers, artists, collectors, and journalists to autonomously navigate the NFT and blockchain space. BAD was instrumental to the understanding and adoption of blockchain art, crypto-collectibles, and blockchain technology.

With the boom of the NFT space in 2021, BAD was re-discovered as a resource by “NFT archaeologists” to search for pre-2021 OG NFT projects. The BAD team took this as an incentive to amend the idea of BAD to provide a reliable education resource around NFTs and related blockchain technology, and to provide a service that covers current topics and discussions in the field as well as to help onboard people who are interested in the NFT space.

People surfing the BAD website have to access not only the original projects database, which will be fed with path breaking projects over the time, but also a rich set of basic and in-depth resources addressing NFT and blockchain art topics.

What is B.A.D’s history?

In 2018, we introduced a mainly edited, partly community fed web directory that served as a service featuring a comprehensive collection of current, future and former projects which are dedicated to blockchain art, crypto collectibles and Non Fungible Tokens. B.A.D covered visual, auditive and multimedia blockchain art and was open to contents from individuals and institutions active in the field. Information about events, art works, technological developments and further information contributed to an overview on a wide range of activities related to this ever emerging topic.

By providing educational resources related to blockchain, dApps and tools, we helped to onboard artists and collectors, and not only empowered them, but also to contributed to the mass adoption of blockchainart, cryptocollectibles, blockchaintechnology and crypto currencies.
