B.A.D. is delighted to interview Tom Mouna, Head of Communications and Content at Zien. An editor, DJ, organiser, strategist and writer for respected global art publications and institutions (Frieze, Art Review, TimeOut and Red Brick Art Museum), Mouna is a jack of all trades. We were excited to sit with Tom and discuss his experiences in Crypto Art, NFTs and Web3.

What is your professional background and career?

Museums, galleries, private collections, NFT platforms.

Please give a short statement about yourself, your work, your aesthetics, your vision and everything else you want people to know about you as a person active in the blockchainart and cryptocollectibles space.

Tom Mouna is a writer, editor, DJ, organiser and strategist. He was a Curatorial Assistant at Red Brick Art Museum Beijing and Project Lead at M Woods Museum Beijing, where he conceptualised, built and managed the multidisciplinary art and nightclub space guī. He was the Beijing Editor of ArtAsiaPacific magazine, Art & Music Editor at TimeOut Beijing and his writing has been published in Frieze, Art Review, Kaleidoscope, Tank, AQNB, zweikommasieben, 黑齿, this is tomorrow, Radii, and more.

A staunchly iconoclastic view of the art world (and beyond) led him to full immersion in the NFT space.

Which artworks, artists and styles do you admire the most, and which shaped you the most?

Pierre Huyghe, Anicka Yi, Agnieszka Kurant, Xu Zhen, Chen Tianzhuo, Rimbawan Gerilya.

What led you to the blockchain?

Iconoclasm.

Since when have you been active in the crypto space?

2020.

What is your contribution to the blockchainart, cryptocollectibles and NFT field? (artworks, services, dapps, projects, podcasts, etc.)
